Guess what I found out my grandpas brother was in the CCC just like Kit's brother Charlie.
The Civilian Conservation Corps (I think thats it?) was an idea the President had to get young men to go away and work on nature thingies for the government, like national parks I think, and they got 25 dollars a month I think it was (or maybe it was per week?), and had to keep 5 for themselves and send home 20 dollars. It was a way to help out their families at home, and a way for the government to be able to give people jobs.
I dobviously don't know much abouyt it but I am going to look on the internet to find out more about what they did and stuff.

I just know this now because my mom and I read a Kit story and my mom goes, "hey thats what uncle albert and uncle john were in when they were teenagers", and I was like "wow really, just like in the kit story"

Now I wish I had known when I was little so I could ask about it!! I mean, both died beofre I was born (uncle john died in Iowa Jima when he was like 19 or soemthing) but I could've at least asked my grandpa if he remembers anything about his brother going there. My grandpa died when I was 11 though an I didnt know about any CCC back then or I wouldve asked him. Oh well. I can still find out stuff online I guess.
